    What exactly does the radar system do? Looks fancy, possibly expensive

    same thing any other radar detector does i think.. cept this one does laser too. he probably doesn't wanna get caught in any speed traps. clean, clean and beautiful.

    The radar/laser is pretty much hidden. As to not have anything hanging from your windeshield. With the two heads in the front, lower grill (laser) it should jam laser. I have a similar setup in my car. I work in DC and drive in VA a lot where as a radar/laser detector is not legal. I don't even turn mine on while I'm driving in VA, even if they see it they can and most likely will pull you over and take it.
