Ford Ranger MT 15 build

started the re-cone today...

courtesy of team psi. 15in MT, 8 layer flatwound dual 1.4 vc, dual woven tinsel leads and i don't know how many spiders there are but a 25lb weight didn't even budge it...

i picked up a can of dupli color paint before i started gluing :cool: i also had to buy all new screws to attach the basket to the motor. 70 cents a piece for odd ball metric stainless steel screws. they didn't have any zinc coated ones :furious:

it was my first time trying the direct splice on tinsel leads. i think it came out pretty good. i used a torch to solder them together and i think i could have gotten a little more coverage with a gun but take my word for it; these aren't going anywhere...

i like the way the basket came out. just two quick coats with minimal prep made it shine...

i wanted to do something a little different and unique with the dustcap. i like the way it turned out..

skadude is building my enclosure this time around cus i really don't have the space to anymore now that i live in an apartment complex. plus he does great work and is a real cool guy.

i have a drawer full off RE stickers, i just cut them out, painted them and stuck em on... and then i just threw some silver flames on there with a sharpie...

finally updated this...

got it installed. built a quick box in the rain. 4 cubes gross tuned to ~30hz. painted pumpkin orange haha.

yes, those are wire nuts, yes that's industrial 6 gauge wiring going to the amp and yes it's all going to get replaced :D:laugh:

as soon as i turned it up the first time it blew the dust cap off and i still need to do all that but i couldn't wait to take it out on its maiden voyage since i've been bassless for many months.

i also need to buy a new HO alt. wish i never sold my ohio generator. my voltage drops to low 13s and hits high 12s when pushed to the max.

will make more videos with a much better camera and different songs later. beats 4 my van is brutal...

thanks to jnralp00 aka dj db designs for the tunes that i've been bumping for years. i gotta get back into the lanes now!
