2000 Lincoln LS V8 10.2.2 IXLs

Welcome to my build log. Just bought a new whip, the 2000 Lincoln LS. I always wanted one and now I have it. My previous builds were in a Buick Lesabre. They varied from four pioneer 12s, to HDC315. I never put full system in it, so with the new car I wanted the works. Enjoy!

Not very clean right now because of snow/salt on the roads.

Pioneer AVH-4000DVD/ Klarity RCA/Karma RCA/Karma 12 gauge speaker wire/Kollosus 1/0 Flex & left over Kicker 1/0 Hyperflex/dB electrical 200 amp alternator (arriving monday)/ two Mach5Audio 10.2.2 IXLs (arriving tuesday)/ Lanzar OPTI2000D @ 0.5 ohm/ Exile 5x7 coaxial and 6.5 components ( got a killer deal on em ) powered by Rockford Fosgate P4004/ Big 3/ Stock Battery/ 100 sq feet of eDead VSE1 ( bought when it was 50% off ). Also installed a Viper 5002 2 way security on car. I think thats all. On to pictures

The Box...

The box is a 2.0 cubic feet @ 36 hz with 36 inches of port. I turned my basement into a temporary paint station.. it wasn't pretty lol. Picsss

Did wood filler/ primer/ sand/ gloss black/ wet sand and some wax. The box has alot of imperfections from not sanding the primer enough. It was the first time i tried to do it so next time i'll try to be heavier on primer so i can sand better. I'm still happy with how it turned out. More updates tomorrow when alternator arrives. Everything is being installed wednesday hopefully so updates and video's then. Thanks!

i got some ixl10's i just took out of my trunk. those subs are killer.

nice sub/amp combo! I wouldve went with more port for more output, but it should get loud regardless.

Thanks for replies. edead wasn't my first choice but for the price.. and my funds, it was great choice. I paid 80 bucks for the 100 sq feet.. couldn't beat it even if it was a lower grade deadener. I had used second skin's damplifier in last install. worked well but it was 80 bucks for 18 sq feet local ( Canada remember ). As far as my other equipment. All of it I got for great price. opti2000d was 278 shipped. the RF amp was 100 bucks. I am always open to make another box if I feel there is more potential. Keep in mind the box will only be approx 1.7 net after subs.. so i mean thats almost 20 sq inches per cube of air space. STAYYYY tuned!

my buddy had an LS v6 and it was nice

If you need the double din mounting kit go to LS Koncepts. Metra and Scosche don't make a kit. You gotta use the factory one that was used with the THX system. LS Koncepts includes a can of black paint to match it to your console.

how do u like teh 4000dvd?
does the ipod menu display album art?

Always loved the look of that car. Heard bad things about the engine and stuff tho. Lots of problems. Hows is been treating you?

what type of primer? and gloss black? primer looks rolled on or was it spray paint?

I did use roll on primer. It was called 1, 2, 3 or something hehe. I only used roll on because it was easier to apply, but draw back is alot of imperfection. Last time i tried spray primer it just soaked intothe wood and didn't work out well. The engine has treated me fine so far.. lol and for much longer. I have heard that there is issues but i mean with used cars you take chances and i'll just have to **** it up if something happens. Yea that P400-4 i got smokin deal on.

UPDATE alternator came in today from db electrical. Got it installed today ( **** thing was a pain in the assssssssss ). Also got my IXLs in today a day earlier than expected. They look sexyyyy. Can't wait. PICSSS
