Honestly, I'm really worried that it's going to flop...

There's a great chance it will, but that's the nature of the design. You may have to rebuild it several times before you get it right. Though you may get lucky on the first try. Just keep at it, man. This box doesn't look too extreme as far as size and port area, so I can't see it failing miserably. I have a feeling it won't be quiet.
