If we have done business please post in my feedback.
I didn't here anything alarming. If the VC hit the back plate it's sound like a fking hammer hitting metal or wood. It would be loud and you would know it right away.
If anything the spider is maxing out or its the surround as it moves, or distortion =p.

There are a few things you're not understanding.
1) The port on an enclosure will reduce cone movement at, around, and below the tuning frequency for about 1/2 an octave above and below. For 35hz, 1/2 an octave is:
35/4 = +8.75hz
So the subsonic is best set at about 35-8.75= ~26hz. But in reality, your sub may be fine to have the subsonic set lower. Below tuning, the sub is relying on its own suspension for cone control. Some subs have a beefy enough suspension to handle loads of power and some do not. It really depends on the design. The HDCs have quite a stiff suspension and can usually handle playing below tuning to a point.
2) Just because the filter is set to 26hz does not meant that the sub will not play anything below 26hz. It's not magical and can't instantly get rid of any frequency below that point. Instead, it's a roll off of power and so the sub will still play those frequencies but they will be at a lower volume level.
Your problem sounds like it might be the suspension popping problem that many HDCs seem to have and that AQ blames on an improper break in.![]()

No. That is a bad box design, I don't care if Jesus designed it. The port wall extends too far back into the enclosure and your port area changes at the inside of the enclosure. The port will not be as effective as it could be and you could easily get port noise from it.
I think you would be better off going with a different design. I could crank something out for you if you would like.
