Okay, just got them installed and the amp gain set to 34.64v/ac or 1200 watts at 1ohm. They are definitely underrated. They are barely moving. So I will leave them like this for a month to get them to break in and then I will turn them up to 2k.
Even at the 1200 watts they are at I am able to get a lil windshield flex.
Overall, so far i am happy with the purchase. i will try and get a video this weekend and post up
This enclosure is 1.5^cu.ft net, tuned to 35hz.
Re: Cadence S2W8 S2 Review
Okay just gave my irst demo today. A friend of mine has two kicker comp 12's in his trailblazer running off a Kicker 750. I didn't tell him what I had in my car. Also, keep in mind, I have not adjusted my gain from min. My dmm shows at minimum I am sitting a 34v/ac which is about 1156 watts. During the demo he kept saying wow its louder and cleaner than mine. Then I took him back and showed him what was in the hatch. His first question was "What are those?" and I told him two lil Cadence 8's. His next question was "Why are they so much louder than mine?", I didn't even have the heart to tell him.
They are starting to break in a little. I have been wanting to make a video but its been snowing here in Minot, ND. Later this week is supposed to be nice. So hopefully I will have a vid up. And I may turn these up a little quicker than I had intended. They seem to be settling in quite nice.

You can get a pair for $200 shipped. SQ is phenomenal for such a little driver. Low bass is nice and clean and kick bass is exact. I have to say for such a low priced driver I am more than impressed.
The one thing I WOULD like to hear is the difference in enclosures. They recommend 1.5^cu.ft per driver, and I am running them in .75^cu.ft per driver. I have a feeling they would be alot easier to bottom out in that big of an enclosure. Plus they recommend a 50hz tuning and I am tuned at 35hz.
Made a mistake on price....

28wx14hx12d. Talk to @double 07 ; for the rest of the specs
Lows are really clean. I do have my SS filter set to about 20hz.
Re: Cadence S2W8 S2 Review
The enclosure is 1.5cf net......35hz......12.5" port per cube......and I am sure the kerf helps a little with flow...
Re: Cadence S2W8 S2 Review
okay, just turned my amp up to 44.4v/ac or roughly 1971 watts @ 1ohm. I gotta say, these are getting more and more impressive. I was scared that throwing that many watts t them might cause them to start bottoming out. But they are taking it like a champ. They got louder, but stayed perfectly clean. Granted that has alot to do with the enclosure. @double 07 ;
So right now I gotta say, if you are looking at these subs, I think they are worth the money. Longevity, we will see. I am gonna keep them at this wattage and beat the **** out of them. So only time will tell.
oh and before I get the question, why 44.4vac/ 1971 watts. I was doing this outside, colder than hell. The amp gain kept jumping from 44.4 to 44.8, so I stuck with the 44.4.

Re: Cadence S2W8 S2 Review
Well, they will not handle the full potential of this amp. I wanted to try and see if they could handle the full tilt of this amp. set to 50vac for approximate 2500 watts. However, not knowing my ohm rise but seeing my voltage drop to 12.7v I am gonna guess at full tilt they were seeing anywhere from 1900-2000 watts. Not having it. They immediately bottomed out. But were still controllable. All I had to do was back down on my max headunit volume of 46 to 44 and she stopped bottoming. I only did this for roughly 5 secs to find out max they can take, as I am looking to add two more and run a Massive Audio D8000. I figure if I set the gains on the D8000 to 38.73vac at .5ohm they should see roughly 2800 watts. Or 700 per sub. For comp next year I will probably tune the D8000 to 44.72vac at .5ohm for roughly 34-3500 watts just putting them at what I feel is peak. I will still be getting my enclosure from Starr Mountain but asking for a 40-45hz tuning.
I might have taken a little life off these subs today. But I am trying to give everyone an honest review of these subs. Right now I would recommend these subs for someone looking to run a 1500 watts amp on two of them or a 3000 watt amp on 4. I think getting any higher will need some careful tuning. I have yet to get the voice coils even warm. Even at full tilt today and hitting xmax on the sub, the coils showed no signs of getting warm.
