I paid him $300+ for an RE12.1 that was DOA. He said (and the pix looked) it was BNIB. Now I get a letter from UPS stating that ne did not pay full shipping, and their balance billing me $45 for what he didn't pay?!?!?!?!

Keep all your records, tell paypal exactly what happened and contact your credit card/bank and tell them to charge back the money if its possible.

wtf? UPS shipped it without him paying all of the shipping charges? thats just stupid on their part...I would be ****ed if I would pay them for the shipping when he was supposed to

Ok so heres the deal. I recieved my amp DOA after being told it was BNIB. I find out later that he tried to stick me with UPS charges for tax & custom charges from Canada. I disputed the charges with UPS, and now their going back after him. I did find out some good info from the girl I was talking to at UPS.

If you sign for anything with UPS make sure that it doesn't say or have "P.P." anywhere on the forum. That means that it been "prepaid" for shipping, but not taxed when shipped in from other countries (i.e. Canada, etc.).

Also make sure it also doesn't say "F/C or F.C." anywhere as well. Thats for "Freight Collect". That means YOU will be bill completely for ALL shipping, tax, customs, etc. shortly.

not to be a buzz kill, but there ARE taxes involved when shipping between countries. It is NOT the shppers responsibility to pay those taxes, it's the receiver's.
It sounds like you've been scammed and unless you get your money back through paypal, not much can be done. G/L.

I don't know about all that. I've sent & received many things from Canada, Mexico, Australia, etc. and never had any issues like that. Although I never sent UPS. I always sent via FedEx & DHL. It's been over a month, so disputing it with paypal is out of the question. He gave me the run around just long enough to push me past that. I'm a very trusting person, and when someone tells me that there going to work with me on something I take their word of it. I'll take my loses, and just send the amp in to get fixed somewhere.
