    Review of: AudioTechnix Amp kits and wiring accessories

    So I'll start this off proper. I hopped right on the new AT Wiring kits when they came out. I had already ordered some 0 gauge from Coleman earlier in the year, so I knew how top-notch that stuff is. My buddy was getting ready to finally get an install done in his Scion xA, so I told him if he didn't want to have to upgrade later, he might as well shell out the cash for a 0 gauge kit now, we decided CCA would suffice. I also took the opportunity to jump on the new speaker wire he had out. I knew I was going to have to replace all the wire in my car (radioshack 16 gauge), and I was probably going to have to do some wiring in my buddies car. So I settled on 250' of OFC 16 gauge. I also needed some RCA's for my buddies car, and a new ANL fuse for my car. I didn't get a lot of pictures of all the wiring in detail, but I'll post what I have and offer my opinions.
    A list of the order

    Here's everything laid out, we got some coozies and Lanyard are stickers and cards with it too


    This is a picture of their newer run of power wire. As stated previously, I've received their first run (CCA as well), and was very pleased by it. Both are exceptionally flexible and painless to work with. This newer run has a tweaked jacket, with a less glossy feel to it. And the wire fits in there tighter. It's a tad more flexible, possibly because of the new wire bunching. I'll have some pics demonstrating how flexible it is I can't imagine wire getting much better than this. The other wire I've worked with before is Cadence 8 gauge (very nice as well) and some older Stinger HPM 1/0 wire, which was an absolute nightmare and very stiff.


    Here's a picture of the 12 gauge speaker wire that came with the amp kit. It's definitely over-sized, right on par with the 12 gauge stinger wire I had to strip down to get into my SA-10 terminals. Where it exceeds the Stinger wiring though, is in it's soft and exceptionally flexible jacket. Smoked blue and black, very easy to work with. The only other speaker wire I have hands on experience with is the old 12gauge stinger, and my awful 16 gauge radioshack wire. That stuff is an absolute nightmare, I'll never be cheaping out on wire again.


    And here we have a picture of the 17' RCAs, this one happens to be black. Again, I love the jacket on these, just like the speaker and power wire. The other RCAs I've worked with are some older twisted Stinger series, Some mediocre shielded DBlink RCA that came with my awful DBlink amp kit, and some Radioshack RCA. What I really like about these is the unifying jacket, to make it seemingly 1 piece of wire. It seems to be easier to run, and not as easy to snag on corners or get nicked up on stuff. And I really like how they split off at the end. I can't wait until Coleman is able to offer these in shorter lengths, and in a 4 channel version.

    Here's a picture of the RCA cables hanging out of the dash. This was my first time running cable down the center console line. Once I figured out how to route everything, they were pretty painless to run along. I also did this with the 12 gauge speaker wire, as you might be able to see in the background, connected to the factory harness with butt connectors

    Here's some examples of how simple the AT wire is to work with....
    First is new Battery ground to frame. I took off the stock ground and sanded it down proper, then attached this guy on there. It's a short run as always, and it was very simple to bolt on.


    And lastly, this picture is from battery positive, to the fuse block. The battery is very close to the fire wall, so this had to be a short run, and it also had to bend a run. You can see in the picture how tight the bend is. What you can't see, is that that piece of wire is only about 5 or 6 inches long, and it made that bend no problem. I was so happy with how easy it was!




    tl;dr? Cliffs?
    Yes I'd buy this again. With the level of quality I got out of this, I couldn't justify spending any more money for wire or an amp kit. I'm just a daily guy, not a competitor. You can't beat this for anywhere near the price.

    yea thats what i was guessing must be a smaller install still would like to have tho incase future changes i didnt like the cca xs power sent me the cca and i payed for ofc i sent that back so fast lol it even feels lighter then ofc had a ton of strands tho

    Well for myself, I ordered CCA because I will be running well under 250a, and also running very efficient amplifiers.
    For the amp kit here that I got for my buddy, I got CCA because again, he's not running much power. Right now he's only running about 80a. In the future, he might get up to 200a. And, as you know, CCA is sufficient for 250a. So, half the cost, identical output and performance in my situations

    This kit looks like helluvadeal - the 4 ga. wire alone is $17, not to mention RCAs (another $10), remote, and the ANL fuse + holder. I've already got my power wire, but I'll probably order this kit just to do the big 3, and then get the fuse with it. Then, I'll have some extra wire laying around. Not to mention ring terminals.

    Coozies and lanyards are always a plus.

    Things to look forward to:
    (2) 10" or 12" imperium audio designs subs
    set of PHD MF 6.5" comps
    Completely seal off and deaden my doors
    aquire a 2k amp
    aquire a 2 channel amp for front stage
