What does everyone think about the Dakota R/T?

Looking into something like that, a Ram 1500, maybe a Silverado 1500, Durango, and a few others...

I won't be getting one for a while...I'm hoping for like 8-10 months. Max I want to spend is like 16-17k. I think the R/T is my first choice as of now...I'm really leaning towards a pickup...

Drive them all ... Pick the best ...

Well...of course I'll do that....just want to see if anyone has any input on the above vehicles...:)

I know nobody has mentioned it, but the Nissan Titan gets my vote. We have one, the motor is rock solid, and the truck will pull 115 mph easy, until the governor kicks in.

I can vouche for that my truck will take a Ram Hemi 1500 all day I have also raced a Dakota R/T I barely beat me but he was chipped and had some other **** but it was a close one. Get you a King Cab Titan you can get one for about 16-17K.

Do NOT... i repeat DO NOT...

Get a chrysler product. They are pieces of ****, and DO NOT last long. You will spend TONS of money in the long run...especially if the vehicle is 5-6+ years old. I will NEVER own another Chyrsler product for the rest of my life.

i hate chevy.

my parents have a 1500 and the tranny is fucedk up, the window motor already broke, the CD player (like it matters) broke, the stock speakers are all blown, and its uncomfertable as all hell. they just bought an impala, and its the same thing. mad quirky **** that i hate - among having about 1 cubic foot of storage space available in the cabin of the car (.6 in the armrest MAYBE, and like .4 AT MOST in the govebox. )

and thats giving the impala the benifit of the doubt. i swear to god - it was the worst engineering ive ever seen - ever.

I beg to differ.

My dad has driven over 600,000 miles divided between his three 96' Chrysler Town & Country's. He likes them so much he bought 3. One of them has 280,000 miles on it, still runs pretty well. The others have 150,000 and the last one has 180,000. All work flawlessly.

Granted, they have been used on the highway more than 90% of the time.

Repairs to keep them running for that long?

Mine is running GREAT...now...

That's after over $5000 into THIS YEAR alone...

I remember one of the vans needed a new transmission. Also, a computer went out on one of the vans. A starter was replaced, along with a few other things. Nothing too huge though. Id estimate a 4-5 thousand was spent on repairs/maintenence for the past 5 years. Not bad for 600,000 miles though.
