ok, heres what I'm lookin at now:

goldwood 6.5" for doors $13 each:
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=290-308

Peerless 2" mids in kicks $17 each:
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=289-030

and the aura silk tweets I just got in kicks ~$15 each

and make my own 3 way passive x-overs

Should be less than $150 I hope

look here man, check out: www.aaxes.com and you can get way better sounds for not too much more money then what your looking to spend, I paid I think only $37.99 for my PA components and they sound great, plus if your gonna build a system do it right

Sounds pretty good so far. I haven't heard much about the Goldwood's, but the Peerless and Aura's are pretty good drivers.

I'd try to borrow someone's active xover to determine what crossover points/slopes you'll need. Otherwise you may end up building passives multiple times till you finally "guess" the best combo.

not familiar with Goldwoods either....but many DIY guys love the Daytons- not much more and they come in 4ohm applications too
