ok my cd player on my mini shelf sytem reciever just broke and im planning on keeping the speakers and getting rid of the reciever but now i need a good mini system jsut the reciever with at least a cd player and a radio for under $60 and it needs to be able to support high watt speakers and subs any suggestions?

high watt speakers and subs. interesting. is urs one of those systems that says like 600 watts total peak power or wte? if so, then we need to talk ;)

no im just sayin on my old reciever it would only take so many watt subs before it would shut off so now i wont one that can take higher output subs or w/e w/o shutting off and having lots of bass

basially i wanna be able to run 2 subs like this off of my reciever w/o any kind of like plate amp or w/e so is it possible for me to get a reciever capable of this under $60

btw im prob goin to goodwill and pawn shops tomorrow to find a reciever or anything can you tell me waht i should look for in a reciever or waht kind of power sources should i look for to power car subs in my house and etc

1. that is not a sub, it is a woofer
2. not many shelf systems out there push that kind of power (actually none do)
3. we need to know what u are trying to drive

that woofer that i gave u a link to is what i am trying to push about 2 of them so i need a reciever that cna push the woofers in that link and any woofers or speakers that i may add or change in the future do you understand waht im saying?

you are going to need an amp, not a shelf system orange neon 250 WATTS MAX PEAK EXCURSION POWER cd player system. now that we have that settled, theres not much for under 100 unless u go old school/diy. jim would be better to answer that question however ;)

yea well id rather go old school anyway that way its cheaper and i can hook up my mp3 player instead of having cds so when i go to the stores wat kind of old school reciever should i look for ?

NAD 3020...best old-school integrated receiver out there.

You need an external crossover to drive a subwoofer amp...but you can't beat old-school gear for two-channel playback.
