did the best I could on designing this box. Its for my 2 alpine 10' type r's. I am gonna make a single chamber with one slotted port.

box specs:
Height--10" (will work)

Port specs:
Tuning to 32 hertz
height--8 1/2"

box will be 3.265 ^3 total
-port (.459^3)=2.806^3
-sub displacement (.115 per sub=.23)=2.576^3
-bracing (.076)=2.5^3 which is 1.25^3 per sub according to manf. specs.

please look over this and let me know of any mistakes i might have made.

could someone please double check this for me. :)

your volume was calculated perfectly, displacements and everything. however, the tuning wasnt. the box is tuned closer to 38 Hz.

what would i have to do to get the tuning down? make the port less than 4 inches wide?

you didn't believe me.....

you never gave me an answer to believe. so I did it myself...to the best of my knowledge.

so what do i need to do to get 32 hertz?

hmmmm.... thats odd! i checked my sent box, and there is nothing, and you say you have nothing......but i distinctly remember yesterday writing you back and saying it was around 37Hz. i sat down and figured it out w/ pen and paper yesterday, right after you pm'd me. man my server has been ******* up alot lately!

never got anything. so what do i need to do to tune it down some?

you could do many things such as decrease the port area, increase the port length, increase the volume, or a combination of any of them.

make the port length about 28" but that will mess with your net volume for your subs

checked and rechecked and i still get this same design. it comes out the same everytime. Checked with WinISD and used... www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm
to help with calculations. Here is a drawing of the box i plan to build...

use that. u need excell to run it.

got another question...when someone says length of the port, does this mean length down the center of the port or along the side of the port? cause that can make a big difference.

It means the center line down the middle of the port i.e. if the port is 2 inches from the side wall you would measure the port length 1 inch from the side wall - the center line.

ok thanks
