well if u got 2 of em a 2 channel amp. Maybe a 4 channel amp if there 4ohm comps then u could bridge 2 of the channels to become a 2 channel amp there as well.

Run the comp set in front off of a 2-channel amp, run the rear fill off of your HU's internal amplifier.

100w is not to much. I was running my IDs with 230w per side. If your looking for a amp i would look into a jl 300/2. that would be 150w per side and would work great
05-12-2005, 01:20 PM
Or a jl 450/4 that would run 150 for the fronts and 75 for the rears
05-15-2005, 08:02 AM
is there an amp that can do what the jl does but for a cheaper price?
05-15-2005, 01:08 PM
Just run the rears off the HU, and find one of the millions of 150 x 2 amps.

but i kind of wanted to run them at about 70 to 80 watts because the 6x9's i want are 75 watts rms and i dont wanna underpower them that bad

in about every case from what you are calling underpowered all your speakers will be at normal volumes. power is nice wont argue that but rear speakers will totally mess up a front stage unless its processed. car audio is ran in one of 2 fashions noadays stereo and surround. there is no more "quad"in car audio that died in the early 80's. stereo is purely left and right so rear fill will mess it up with too much power. the suround sound places the power and processes it for you....to me in a car suround sound sounds like pure *** unless done right (very very few get it to that point) and i would still take a propper stereo over a propper surround sound for music until the dvd format for music becomes the norm.
