one of my re tweets just crapped out :( what would be a good replacement?
do i want silk, aluminum, titanium? what do the different ones sound like?

aluminums are harsh kinda sticks out from the midbass as for sil it jst blends in IMO

^^ That's only a generalization.....Does it apply to some? Sure. Does it apply to all? No.

First thing you need to do is figure out how much you are willing to spend, and what impedence the old tweeters are.

the old ones are IIRC 3.7ohm, and i would really like to keep it around $30-35...maybe 40.
and the silk ones that came w/ the comps, i though, were kinda harsh. in my car they kinda had a nasty peak around 3-5kHz. thank god for my mp860 w/ the 13 band eq:)

How about the aura tweets in the classifeds? Havent personally listened to them, but they seem to get very nice reviews.
Is your comp set under warranty? You should have RE replace it, even if you dont want to use them. YOU KNOW someone will buy those tweeters, if only because they are RE.

Check out the Max Fidelity. Pretty well reguarded as being an excellent tweeter. Not just for the price, either :)
