theres a dude in my town who has a gnx that has less than 100 miles on it---it took a 400 out of a possible 400 at the Grand National National Car Show a few years ago. to my knowledge it was the only one to ever do so. he had it up for sale by appointment only. me and my dad went to look at it and the guy wanted $120,000 with the trailer that it sat in.

great example is Dodge Charger...the new one is a piece of ****..they had a concept design looked jsut like old one just with more refined and smoothed out exterior/interior..

the new charger is a lime as green like that >:p: but its a FREAKING SEDAN MAGNUM!!! come on....god...

yea that charger should not carry that name, it makes me sick...i want the camaro back but at the same time i fear for it because im sure itll be butchered and offered with a 2.2L SUPERCHARGED (YEA!) ecotec

(not bashin that engine, as i know it has some potential but if it touched a camaro itd make me sick)

well i like the idea of a GNX but not what they did to that car....do a google for 2006 camaro and you will see some sweet pics but nothing thats genuine i think... http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.modernracer.com/spyshots/spyshotschevycamaro2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.modernracer.com/spyshots/spyshots.html&h=130&w=250&sz=6&tbnid=q1Y8HTE-Hp4J:&tbnh=55&tbnw=106&hl=en&start=13&prev=/images%3Fq%3D2006%2Bcamaro%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa% 3DN

I hate trailer queens. That car was made to be driven, and driven fast. Not sit in a trailer all it's life, barely being driven 100 miles.

That guy needs shot.

thats stupid, i appreciate the fact that maybe my children will be able to see what cars looked like when they came out in the era they were released...

better that, than some stupid kid putting apc stickers and wing on it...and driving it everywhere..

We laugh at ricers, but each year US car makers try to bring a past legend back and destroy what was good about the whole car. Nothing is unique anymore, pontiacs look like buicks. Ridiculous. I have always loved the "87" GNX and to disgrace it with the looks of that. The need to be shot with cow SH&t. I laugh at US auto makers and there pathetic ideas they come with.

I actually don't agree with that.

With some people's luck, he'd take it out one day and some yuppie talking on his cell phone would slam in the back of him. And then his GNX would be worth squat.

My dad RARELY drives his fully restored '56 nomad around. Why? Because there are TONS of idiotic drivers out there.

Why take the risk?

squeak9798

Why take the risk?

Why spend the money if you aren't ever going to use it?

Sure, they're nice to look at.....but even funner to drive. You think when GM built it, the engineers sat around and thought "God I hope someone keeps this thing on a trailer." No, they built them so that they were fun to drive :p:

Well, say that to my dad, and he'll tell you lots of stories of people whose sweet cars got f*cked up because of *********.

People spend the money so they can admire them, drive them somewhere safe, like a cruise night or something. But taking the risk of driving it on the highway is something i wouldn't do with a car worth that much.

It's just some people's personal preferences. Tons of people spend money on **** they will NEVER use for their actual purpose. Like people who spends THOUSANDS on sports memorbilia. If you spent $5000 on a signed basketball, would you shoot hoops with it?

PhatTonyDeMarco
05-06-2005, 06:59 PM
That IS photoshopped. Look at the grill where it says GNX, it is WAY too visible, and is at the wrong angle to be on the grill. Even the Buick emblem is facing full front, not even slanted remotely.

squeak9798

Again, rural/semi-urban slang. Geesh, pay attention man.

LOL....I would never pay $5k for a basketball anyways :crap: That's one thing I've never understood....why some guys signature is worth so much money. But, then again, I consider a famous sports athlete to be along the same lines as a mechanic who can fix almost any car. Both have their talents, and one's isn't necessarily better or more important than the others. And they're both just men..nothing more, nothing less.

Anyways, that's a discussion for a different thread :D

Well, some people WOULD pay $5k for a basketball, thats the connection. ;)

I'm not saying YOU would, but some do. Just like people spend $100+k on a car, it's not exactly gonna be their daily driver (well, unless they are rich :))

If people pour their life savings into a car, they want to admire it, not think about what they are gonna do when some asshat plows into them.

MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE THE ORIGINALS ****IT!!

x1000...

Ford took a "step" in the right direction with the '05 Mustang, but it still looks like a pregnant beluga compared to the clean lines of the late '60s fastbacks...the new GTO is an insult to the meanacing front end of the original Goat.

But hey, it's "progress" :(

Then you should be smart enough to have an appraisal completed and submitted to your insurance company. That way, when the "asshat" wrecks your pride and joy, the car can be rebuilt from his pocket. :)

Cars have wheels --> They're meant to be driven...not sit around for people to look at...go to a museum for that ****. :D

Hell, if I had a fully restored '69 Camaro RS/SS, I'd drive it everyday if the gas prices weren't so ridiculous.

Obviously, it's a photoshop ...

The question is, are the plans for the car real ?

na... theres no way theyd bring the GN back.

They knew the fuked up with the GTO, and if they ruin the GN, lots and lots of bowtie fans are gonna stand going elsewhere

The only problem is, if a car is totally destroyed (twisted frame, totalled body) what if you CAN'T rebuild it? Take a look at some rare cars that you can't even FIND parts for anymore.

Hell, even a typhoon/syclone is hard to get parts for. If a car is deemed totalled, then the insurance company will surely give you money, but good luck finding another car of the same quality.

If I had a car that was that nice it would be a trailer queen for the most part. But then I don't think of any GNX being worthy of being a trailer queen.
Just my 0.02

Werd. This weekend I metup with some guys who had 3 GT-40 kit cars, and about 8 shelby cobras. They were talking about how if they had originals they wouldnt drive it on the street, because one of them used to have an old 69 Z28, and took it out one weekend, and some lady sideswipped him..and its not like you can just go buy another 69 Z28
