what would work good in place of my 6.5 RE's? they don't have as much midbass as i was expecting and the crackle under about 150hz :( i would like to keep the crossovers and the tweets, cause i don't have the money for a complete new comp set. so i want a decent 6.5 that will sound good crossed over around 80hz-whatever the RE crossover is...

You need to find out what that LPF crossover point is ;) No point in suggesting a mid that can only play up to 2500hz, if the crossover point is 4khz :D

Also need to know your budget, and if the RE crossover has any "special" features built in (such as a zobel network, etc).

Rip out the crossovers, and build your own :)

if i wanted to go that far i'd get another amp, and go active :up2somet:

crossover point....no clue. but there is nothing special in it, 2 resistors, a cap, and a coil.

edit:i guess i could measure the components in the crossover and calculate it.:crap:
