If the flanges have been trimmed off the horn a good amount does it affect performance? Why are they so long anyways?
Here is the pic:

Would that affect the sound any?

no - they are there to hold the horn in place.

i dont know how you plan on mounting them without the flanges tho.

Thats what I was thinking, but these are on ebay for $30 with buy it now of 75, but I will probably just buy that new set that Tuan is selling instead of getting this beatup looking set with hardly any way to mount. I asked the seller how long they have been used he said he got off ebay 2 years ago and used them since but doesnt know about before that, so they have been used AT LEAST 2 years. Is it worth the extra 125 for the new 1s?

those were 8's the car isnt mine anymore its back in van wert with about as much mempis gear in it as you can get lol. they took out the back seats and in its place are 8 12's hpo. still has 8's (5 memphis syncs) it looks alot meaner now but i dont think it sounds right it doesnt get wide like it did. with those kicks i could have put up too a 12 in pretty easy but that woulda ****** for a 3 way system lol

Nope, trimming them won't hurt in anyway, you can trim all the way down if you absolutely had to, so don't worry about it.
