Ok, I was showing off my Highs for my sister with some very harsh high test off of a test tone CD. I did a very stupid move and turned the treble all the way up to 7( norm for me is 3 at max) and after about a minuete, I saw a little smoke from my right tweeter. I turned off the CD and turned the treble down to 1. I threw in mudvain's CD in and it still sounded good. It had a slight smell(ya you know, the smell) when it first happened but nothing since. It is playing perfict on normal lissening songs and everything. Sould I be worried about it? Or should I be paranoid? All I know is I wont be doing that anymore, hehe. Just let me know what you think.

Sounds like you heated it up enough that the VC glue started burning/melting.
How long it lasts really depends on how damaged it really is now.

I dont know why, but for some reason that anwser put me at ease a little. That is the most logical explination why they still sound perfict. Just to let you know, the high tone test was playing at aproximate 27khz test tone and the HU's treble was tuned to 17.5khz with the level at 7(max). The tweets defenatly had a work out. The volume was at like 28(max is 35). I guess there is still some smoke left in the sucker(inside joke, hehe) Hopefully no more leaks out  . Thanks for the help. I am still wondering if anyone else has a differant theory.

Hopefully ;) We all know electronics run on magic smoke; Once you let all the smoke out, it'll no longer work.......

Like I said, I was showing off my my type R tweets for my sister and the test was just octives that just kept going up. Me and my friend were blastin my system this weekend to some mudvayne and it performed flawlessly. I dont think it is totaly gone :p: . We will see how long it lasts.
