Hey, pretty straight forward question. I'm looking for a high quality 2-way comp set that will sound clean, clear, and crisp without sounding harsh or distorted at fairly high volumes. I've heard great things about all of these, but the sets I'm deciding between are the Boston Acoustics Z6's, Focal Utopia's, and CTD EF-61CFi/25's.. I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with these comps, and what you think about them? I'm open to suggestions if you think there are others that are better than those mentioned for around the same price :p:. Thanks!

dls iridiums and image dynamic chameleons can be all compared as to which ones i like the dls, image dynamics, the bostons and the focals while the cdt's are very laid back. the choice is yours they all have their advantages and disadvantages. the bostons can handle a TON of power the dls and focals are musical the chameleons are life like..just depends if you like warmer sounds the dls and focal would be a good choice. none of them are bad sounding though unless they are installed bad.

another choice would be the rainbow pros, at around $600, that is what I have and love it, especially compared to my old alpine type x comps.

I personally am a big fan of the Z6.....but, that's just my opinion.

The best suggestion would be to find a dealer that carries them and listen to each set with your own material...... :D :D :D

dude those speakers are exspensive as hell !!!!!!!

i have the es-620's and those components rule for acoustic and classical- very clean with killer vocals. what kind of money are you trying to spend? if your looking for absolute perfection dp a dyi system or look into seas lotus components(you can find those for about 750)

WHERE AND HOW MUCH?

they make several different models for the 07 series- different crossovers, tweets and 3 ways. remember cdt sounds great in kicks

i have the 07.4x set and love mine. I had the dls iridiums, UR, boston pro, mb q series, jl xr, ID chams, diamond hex (but they had black dust caps) ect and my 07's i like the best so far. Midbass is awesome, they are super clean and can take alot of power. I have them now on a pg ms1000ta which im sellin (if anyone wants it) so i can put my 2 us amps 1000x's which do more power. The 07.1 set uses the 560, and modular tweeters which are super smooth.

oh forgot to mention only thing that i dont like about them is the mids are huge! 7" and 3" deep not many can use these.

Quite honestly you could get what you are looking for in either set you mentioned with a proper install- power, location, dampning...

I'm personally in favor of Rainbow, as well as higher line DLS, and Dynaudio passive sets. All have natural mids bass response, pronounced midrange and the tweets are on my side of the fence as far as accoustical 'texture' and smoothness. You can get loud as all hell and superb detail doesnt have to come at the price of bleeding ear drums. :D

z6s were lacking in midbass - just my 2..

high end cdt comps that i heard were OK - but that might have just been the way he tuned it.

no comment on focal as of yet.

On the DLS Iridium 6.2, how do the mids and tweeters sound?? Does the mids have quite abit of midbass, and do the silk tweeters play very smooth like the Rainbow tweets from the Pro Series?

as I've heard them in a car like mine the tweet on the DLS is a tad more laid back-them again for 'MY' tastes I havent found a tweet with as good balance( detail and smoothness) as the Cal25VAF tweet on the Rainbow Pro
