****, the extremis needs quite the mounting depth too.

looks like the Koda is a more suitable choice for me so far.

I was going to use the Extremis as well, but since it was 8ohm...and my tweeters are 6ohm...I'd be looking at an odd amplifier...or TWO amplifiers...

OH, and for your xxx6.5's.....FIBERGLASS!!!!!!!!! ;) Mine are on the way...will be here thrusday hopefully...

I'd love to fiberglass them in the kicks but then again, and you will see when you get your, they are huge and every time I push the clutch in I would be kicking them.

and I am not about to cut my door panel. I am trying to keep the car as original as possible.

I am going to glass my Hex mid in the kicks and a midbass driver in the door.

i think you would be more than happy with the kodas. i currently run my koda 6's in a passive 3 way setup crossed at 55hrz and they sound great. i get complaments on my "system" everytime someone rides with me. and for the money they are really hard to beat.

to throw fuel to the fire if you wanna stick to the Euro speaks....heard these recently ran active, mid crossed over at ~35-40 hz- very impressive

6.9" Rainbow Power line CS mids....pretty beefy

no i havent heard eather personally. but i do hear nothing but great things about them. if all else just remember that it dosent matter what speaker you have, it always comes down to the install of it.

with that said everyone hear has offered up great speakers. choose the one that best fits your pocket and "taste" i guess. i really dont think you can go wrong with anyone of them.

from what I have read many places and considering my install. I think the Koda's are going to be the ones I try first.

Heck if they don't suffice I will sell them and try something else.

So it's just a full range driver...nothing really new or ground-breaking about that.

Do a Google search for Fostex, Lowther, Moth Audio...among others :) Although it will be nice to have more choices...

I wouldn't hold my breath ;) We're still waiting on the CTX subs, IDMax v4, 15" IDmax, IDQv3, IDone processor, etc etc. And the 15" IDMax and IDone have been promised to us for ~5 years now.........

they mess around with alot of stuff. eric made my old installer some custom idw10's to be used as midbasses, then at finals i got to fiddle with the id one (thats been 7 or 8 yrs ago) the know their stuff pretty well but alot of their problems are from knowing too much then making it then taking it a step farther before anything gets brought out. some people will say this isnt true but in dealing with them over the years i really honestly dont think their is a better company than them sure they might have problems and it might seem to take a long time for them to hash it but you also have to realize there are only like 4 or 5 guys working there

yeah i deal with jeremy there he's pretty cool- he pulled some strings for me to get the neo's. he told me if i ran with my idq8's and those neo's i'll never want to change my system again

i dunno about that lol eric still tries telling me mini horns are the **** and i personally dont like them. tried for 8 days before we settled on the location of the horns under the dash of basically the same car i had and it for the name of god wouldnt center solid tried covers took mine off to see if it made a difference eqed the holy hell out of it even yanked my idx24 out and hooked it up into my friends camaro (he had cd-2 mini i had cd-2 standard and cd-3 standard) only god **** way i got it to do what i wanted was to put in my cd-2 standards i did everything but put the minis against the firewall . when we were done it was ok it was still better imaging than regular kick panel speakers but nothing like mine.

my truck has plenty of room for horns- im not keeping the truck though. looking into getten a crown vic interceptor(police car) i could put the idq8's in the kicks and mount the horns easily i would think

I'm curious, has anyone heard the CDT ES-07 components? They seem a bit pricey for component speakers.
