I've actually got something for sale that would do exactly that :) A Creative Labs Audigy 2NX...does 5.1 surround, optical inputs/outputs, connects via the USB port.

PM me if you're interested :)

You can always get a sound blaster extigy. Btw, what kind of dolby surround setup are you looking at getting?

Are you going optical or analog?

For a laptop I would suggest this:

I hate Creative for music but oh well...

Well, he was asking about a soundcard for his laptop so the Audigy 2 is out of the question and if you think Creative makes the best MUSIC audio card you're flippin' nuts...

I use an Audigy 2 card in my PC and I love the sound. If there are better sounding sound cards out there please list a few. I'm an "audio first" guy and would like to keep my options open.

Link me if you have any.

Thanx, Adam

If you are running analog out then most sound cards with the VIA Vinyl chipset will put Creative to shame. I would suggest the Audiotrak Pridigy 7.1LT. The DACs are far better than Creative.

I just want to state that my GAMING box at home has a Creative Audigy 2 ZS. For gaming there is nothing better at the moment but music is another ball game.
