the first 2 listed are coaxials, the last 2 are comps...

midbass is install dependant also. if you are just sticking them in the doors the diamonds and the alpines would be close. if you deadened the doors and baffeled them the diamonds should be more detailed but not by much.

there's a baffle but no deadening, the original speaker hole was for an oddly shaped 4incher with 3 screw holes (weird *** Bose). The small enclosure that that speaker is supposed to go into has been cut to fit a 6.5 and seal it off....

i forgot to mention that yes some are coavil so are comps, either way they have external crossovers and are built to quality. I heard the JL's VR series have good midbass too, but at this point i'm leaning towards the diamonds since they are cheaper and ilike that brand.
The enclosure me made is ghetto rigged but creates a good enough seal to make it sound decent. I just need speakers tha'll hande 150w rms sound great.

just double checking, by bridging the 4ohm speakers onto 2 channals it'll halve the ohms and present a 2 ohm load on the amp correct?

Got mine from Carsaudioshoppe on Ebay as well. For the $113 they sell them for they were hard to pass up. I have no complaints. There's plenty of midbass to keep the bass up front sounding (and enough to for me to know a speaker kit worth of dampening isn't going to cut it). I run mine with the front two channels of a PG500.4TI (75x2).

i owned the VR's and I really dont like the mids very much. The tweeter is nice, fairly detailed without being too harsh, but the mids aren't very hot

JL is about 130AUD (65USD) more than the pioneer.
