Does anyone know of a reasonably priced 3 way component set? I've been looking on ebay, but all I can find is 3 way sets that are over 300 bucks. that seems a bit steep. i'm looking for 6.5",4",tweeter component sets. Any ideas? Also, if i can't find any, will a 2-way alpine type x be almost as good?

DLS has a relatively inexpensive 3-way, the C36 comp set. However, don't think that a comp set is inherently better just because it's a 3-way set. There are trade-offs each way (2-way vs. 3-way), one is not necessarily better than the other. There is a probability that you may like the 2-way Alpine Type-X speakers better than any 3-way set in it's price range.

Pick speakers based on their sound, not their quantity ;) More isn't always better.

I agree with you. Problem is, there isn't any place in my area that has really nice speakers.
