My dad wants to replace all the speakers in his 93 Landcrusier. The front ones are 6 1/2", but the problem there is only 1 1/2" space between the metal they mount in and the window behind it. The stock speaker looks really thin. Can anyone recoment some speakers that have a shallow mouting depth??

Also there are 4" speakers in the rear door and there is 1 1/4" between the metal and the window. I have done a lot of speaker install and never have seem such shallow depths :crap:

kick panels are the way to go.

*EDIT*
6.5's up front
doesnt say anything about shallow mounting on SD
Just check them out and see what manufacturers offer 6.5" shallow mount speakers
