Ok inlight of my prior post, I have an idea which could be a bit more simpler. As I said my door panel has quite a bit of vinyl on it. Rather than ripping the vinyl off and creating a mess can I;

1) Lay fleece over top of it and just saturate with resin? Sand, than paint.

2) Bondo the imperfections, sand it and just paint it.

I'm not sure if the bondo will stick to the vinyl unless I make some holes in the panel.

Thanks

resin will NOT like that.

the vynl will most likely fall off and not be a good surface. hell, plastic in its own does not like to stick to fiberglass resin or bondo.

your best bet is to go to the junk yard and find a door panel and rip the vynl off it, sand it with 60grit and then do your work on that.

hell, if you wanted, tape the entire door and make a fiberglass mould and make some clever brackets to make it stay on the door somehow. but that would be tricky.
