is there a subsutute for a EZ81 tube?? i just got two monoblock 6bq5, 12ax7, ez81 tube amps, but i dont have any ez81's i hope there is a sub.

Looks like the 6CA4 is a replacement. It's a rectifier, correct?

yeah a rectifier, thanks, well i got 6ca4, ill give it a try....
hey jack, i also picked up a old aircastle ford tube radio , on the back of it is says 6 volt batt operation, do ya think i could throw the right risistor on it and hook it up to a 12v batt???

You'd need a DC voltage regulator. Shouldn't be too to whip up a little circuit, do a Google search on it. There's more involved than a simple resistor, though...

ok thanks i am on it.... if ur intrested i also got a bell amplifier today, it has (4) el34's (6) 12ax7's the tubes look in great condition, and the amp looks cosmetically fine even the componets, but iam still cleaning the amp up. if intrested trade sell??? if not ill put it up on ebay in a week or two.

oh yeah i forgot the 5v3 tube on the bell amp, there is a 5u4 tube in its place

Nah, I think I'm going single-ended triode for the time being, with my little EL84 stereo amp...

but thanks anyway for the offer! Good to know fellow tube junkies are on the boards.
