I was driving around last night bumpin, and my friend in my passanger seat, turned my MX on my alpine HU on, and then cranked it even more..... I got so pissed, then i turn it up to like 17 today and my left speaker is crackling like a bit**. I cant even stand listening to music now. Its an Infinity (in sig). Anyone know how to fix this? or if infinity has a warranty..., or is there a temp fix i can do i can't stand the cracking

Depends on the warranty? Where did you buy them from? Ebay or a dealership. If so they have a 1 year warranty on them I'm pretty sure, but I've never been an owner of Infinity but I know they have a warranty on them.

u might cosider a amp to run your new kappas or bostons. Those speakers are pretty good powerhogs. Also there are 2 things that blow speakers: Distortion, and being underpowered. An amp will take care of both of those, and maybe next time your passenger will no better to mess with another guys stereo.(just a suggestion)

^X2. HEAT is the great killer of speakers. Anything that creates heat will in turn kill them. Overpowering can kill speakers. Clipping can kill speakers. Underpowering and distortion will not kill speakers, but the former does lead to clipping, which can kill speakers. blah blah blah...
