for these ^^
you will need an external SET of equalizers PER horn (10band or more) and a 24db per octave slope high pass filter, and some really good midbass speakers... ie, XXX, ID chameleon, koda6 or 8's, IDq8, crystal CMP8, ect.

for these ^^
just an active crossover with at least 12db per octave slope and some midbass :)

All depends on what you like and how much you have to spend ;)

These are probably the some of the most expensive: http://madisound.com/accuton.pdf - Look at the second product down,
the D30-6; Yes, that is $4,200 each. A pair would cost you $8,400. So, if most expensive translates into best, there you go :) Buy yourself and pair and let us know what you think.

Beyond that, it's all personal preference. Horns are very very nice aswell; good call req :thumbupw:

there is no best tweeter as its environment it resonates in effects its sq. what sounds awesome in an open room might sound like pure crap in a car. plus you have eq and cross over points to think about as well as general installation locations.......

Morel USA and Morel israel are not the same company. Most people when discussing Morel as a standalone component tweeter are speaking of the DIY units from Israel - not the USA company - which makes life confusing since some use the two brands interchangeably.

It's not difficult to get a hold of a Morel Israel tweeter at all - MDT-22 is often used as a great "bang for the buck" unit in HT for those that do a 2 way and need a fairly low tweeter crossover point.

I tend to stick to the Seas Excel T25's for my personal usage though.

Well, I think they're probably a little steep for me anyway. :eyebrow: I'm on the market for a new set of comps for my P9 set up and as of now I have NO idea which way I'll go. Which is frustrating. :crap:

You can afford a P9 setup you can afford a nice tweeter. :up2somet:

It's not necessarily being able to afford one that is frustrating me because I can. What I'm frustrated about is choosing a setup.

BTW, love your sig.

adam why dont you see if you can find some pg elite components. They were made by morel isreal, and costs less. The only thing bad about these, is that they are discontinued. These things can take whatever power you throw at it.

Check out the Usher 9950's, the Excel T25-001's, the Morel MDT-40, and the MDT-22 (not suitable for an easy car install) - I've heard all of them except the Usher - and will be playing with them shortly - I run the T25-001's exclusively in my home theater.

Seas lotus are supposed to be nice, but I don't consider their price tag justified unless you really want that smaller diameter tweeter.
