Ok guys I'm hopefully going to be doing a DIY 3-way comp setup. Now I want to use 2 8's 2 6.5s and 2 tweets. Now if I put the 6.5s in the doors and then kicks with the 8s and the tweets, will that throw the staging off and sound weird?

shouldnt be that noticable... at all

think about the people that take the tweeters and mount them on the pillar by the windshield, about 3 ft away from the 6.5's and that sounds nice...

i hope you have alot of foot room, cause a kick that will fit an 8" will take up some space.

A much better idea would be to put the 6.5's and tweets in the kicks and 8's in the door. Midrange frequencies are more directional than midbass frequencies, so you'll want to be able to aim the midranges and it would be much less detrimental to have the midbass off-axis in teh doors. Also, you want the midrange and tweeter as close together as possible......so, overall the midbass would work better in the door and the midrange would work better in the kick with the tweeter. Plus kick's likely wouldn't give the 8's adequate airspace to perform optimally.

The only thing about putting the 8's in the door is the fact that I have a brand new truck and Im just not ready to cut the doors up like that

Then, IMO, it'd be a better idea to go with something like 6.5" or 7" midbass in doors (7" mids should still fit), 5.25" midrange and tweets in kicks.
