Hey everyone, if you havent noticed now instead of the M6 series for diamond they have the D6......i am guessing that the older M6 series components, subs etc are better performing products(as well as the older D5 series amps). Has anyone heard the new products and what is your opinion on the M6/D5 vs. D6 series? I am very skeptical of the new series.

Here is the system i was about to buy until diamonds new products came out:

front: M6 6.5 comps powered by the D5 300.2
Rear: 4" diamond coaxials/run off HU
3 10" M6 subs/unsure of what D5 amp they need??help

system is intended for great SQ and high output

any suggestions, comments, and opinions are greatly appreciated. Feel free to reccommend other products(only if you have heard the diamonds).

Thanks and sorry for the long post. :)

That would still be a good system but the new diamond stuff is really really nice. Even the D3 amps are very nice and underrated.

i have diamond audio all around.

diamond audio D661S component for front
diamond audio CM361 component for rear fill

to tell you the truth, i notice no difference between the 2 yet the D661 is nearly $100 more

probably cuz i'm running off deck power? who knows

i neva heard the M661s probably wouldnt notice a difference.

if you gon buy might as well buy the latest product. cant go wrong with D661S. compared to stock. VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY noticible difference, that even a baby can notice

are you asking what d5 to use. i have a couple d5 1200.1s and i love them. i am going to be using two d6 1500.1's and a d6 600.4 in my new setup and will have actual results within the next couple weeks.

are the dimond d6 amps underrated? by alot? im looking at runing the d6 5.2 amp for comvience its rated at 60x5 +70x2 7 channel total. will this be enough power for CDT HD 6 1/2 fronts including the center and cl for rear (not worried about power to the rears) but the sub will this be enough? its 280x1 bridged. i currently run two idq 12 subs with 400 watts and hit around 140db. I would like to stay around this number what 12" sub can i use with that 280watts and get this? RE ED I would prefer RE something but any sub that would work give me suggestions please

Thanks

all Diamond amps are under rated :)
I run the D1500.1 and its says 1500w but its really closer to 1900 and I run a D5600.2 which is rated at 150x2 in it clearly is alot more( I have used 3 amps on the same HEXs and this amp was by far the loudest)
Alot of the newer Diamond stuff was just rebadged, but I would Email Coop over at Diamond and ask him some questions, very helpfull guy and has helped me make my system really jam.
If your running HP on your comps just double the RMS watts and watch em sing
people forget if you run FULL on your speakers follow the rating but if you run HP only your speakers you can really crank em up
200w on a HEX with HP Hz only and youll be amazed
Underpowering a HP speaker or even using the reccomended RMS is always a dissapointment IMO

D3's are no different than M3's (speaks, amps and subs are unchanged)
D6's (comps are new and better than M6's), D6 subs are the same m6mkII's, amps are different

well the M3's have different baskets than D3's but mechanically they are the same otherwise (except for the $40 difference in ebay pricing). I have the old M6 sub which is **** nice in its own right and M3 components which I am very happy with for the $110 price tag.
