the 9833 is $249 at my local dealer. and so is the 9835. Kind of makes me want to buy it instead of what I was planning to buy, the pioneer 770mp.

Yeah, I was going to go with the 9855 or 860 premier, but I am willing to forgo all of the aesthetic bells and whistles for the higher SQ of the 9833.

1) It's been that price for about a month now (if not longer) :p:

2) I wouldn't necessarily say the 9833 is "higher SQ" than the 860MP.

metalmaxima, i dont quite understand ur basis on why the 9833>860 in sq. please do elaborate.

My bad.

The SQ of the 860 is superior to the 9833...should've made that clear above

I went with the 9833 because of the price...at $300 it's a steal!

I want to repaint the interior panels with HOK Shimrin and need to start saving for all of the primers, paints, etc! :p:

^thats a sick deal, i would much rather get the 9833 or 9835 than the 770...especially for that price.

between the 860 and 9835, that was a close one for me. ultimately i picked the 860 cuz it was $150 less. ive thot about switching to the 9855 when it comes out, but we'll see how good it is and then decide.

whats the diff between 9835, 9833, 9831?

The only difference between the 9833 and 9835 is the display. I don't believe the 9831 as all the xovers/eq's/time alignment features that the 9833/35 do.

could just the display have a $100 difference in the MSRP? whats so different about the displays? sorry if i'm being so specific.

the 9831 is the one i had before the premier... it was not
that user friendly and didnt have near the features of the
premier...

i didnt like the idea of the 9833 hooking right up to the battery...

that 9855 looks really sharp though.

The 53 has a BioLite display that is really nice, but I didn't think it's worth an extra $100 for that.

As MetalMaxima mentioned...the 9835 has a Biolite display...doesn't wash out in the sun as such as easily (supposidly). Worth the extra $100 MSRP?....they sold quite a few; so to some people it must be :D

I was quite surprised to stumble upon the price for the 9835 myself. I'm going there tomorrow to take a look at it.

I sat in a friend's install with the Biolite display...:D

I'd say it's worth it ;)

do any other online sites have the 9833 for cheaper than 300?

also is it hard to install this HU for a noob?
and what would i need as far as wiring / harnesses for a 95 civic?

So I went to the dealer today that supposedly had the 9835 for $249, but it was a mistake on the website. The real "clearance" price, was $499, but he said that I could get if for $349 --which is cost for him. I could get the 9833 for $299 though. is the biolite display worth the extra $50?

use this for a referral code: pcedt-pzdby-k9405

and u get 20 bucks off!

as far as installing.... it was a cinch, crutchfield gives u all the necessary harnesses, etc.

as far as picking the correct harness for ur car, you select your car on the crutchfield site and they will give you teh correct one.
