hey guys, all i need to play my ipod through my alpine 9830 is a 3.5mm to rca cord right? i've tried this in each set of inputs in the back and it doesn't work. i'm guessing i need to hit a button to change the source so it plays through the aux inputs? or are they only out's...a little help here please :crap: maybe it's not as easy as buying a $5 cable and plugging it into your HU, oh well

Is the 9830 able to use the Ipod Adapter? If not you still need to get an Aux input adapter to run through the bus. Call crutchfield, they have all of them and it wont' run you more than 15 or so bucks. All those 3.5mm jacks are RCA preouts.

one or the other. If its worth it to you to spend 100 bucks and control itthough the HU then get the interface, otherwise just the aux input is fine.

Yeah it's really up to you...But I would recomend that Interface. It's really neat, unless you don't have that kind of money right now.

i'd get the interface too. you can use your remote to control the ipod as if it were playing from the h/u, i think that's pretty tight

its actually only about $50 extra not $80 because the alpine ipod thing comes with a car charger. car chargers run about $30 for the ipod
