I am looking at new front speakers. was hoping to spend sub 200 but would be willing to spend around 200...

here are some I have looked at so far, by the way this is 200 for the pair.

mainly video game movie use, but do get a fair amount of music use too maybe a 55 / 45 ratio

not expecting an amazing jaw dropping speaker just want the best for the money.
And I have $75 to blow on amazon so I would like the speakers to be on their.

Out of the ones you listed, probably the Wharfdales...

but if you can, check out Athena AS-F2 floorstanders...I believe Amazon can get them through a deal with AudioAdvisor. It's a 6.5" TMM design, pretty high sensitivity too (somewhere around 93dB/W).

advent as2...all i need. also, actually listen to the speakers cause everyone wants different qualities. personally, i HATE the sound of klipsch, kinda deep and paradigm is too bright. but my uncle SWEARS by paradigm and HATES definitive which i love. so it all depends on ur tastes. from my experience, wharefdale makes good towers. jmac has some if i remember.

id say out of all of them, get the Wharfedale..Buh if it was me id rather get a hi quality bookself, then low quality tower..

naw, bookshelves are for surround or small rooms imo. they don't have alot of range. some, however, such as the primus bookshelves, can sound amazingly like towers.

my room is 16' x 16' don't know how big that is in the home audio world.

like my music load... so I think tower, but hey whatever works for the money.

I personnally like the sound of yamaha's but as people said it is all based on personal preference.
Just go to a store and listen to several kinds before you make a purchase.

yeah, that might be a problem. out of all of those the only one i can listen to is the sony, i guess a few more of the brands but not specific speaker types. So i kinda planned on ordering blind, not always good but sometime you have to to what needs to be done.

if youve heard from the company, ordering blind is usually ok to go. every speaker company has their own trademark or unique ness about them. for example, shure headphones have a very strong midrange response. and believe me when i say the 750s are a HUGE deal .

k, i'll take it into consideration. thanks fo the advice.
