For my first MT box:

6.2 (about) cubes gross
36x16.5x24

port- 15x7 29.5 inches long
tuned to 45hz

thats 6.73 cubes before anything, using your dimensions, i come out with ~ 4.5 cubes tuned to 37

it always seems to me that whenever somone comes up with box specs, people always say what its tuned to. how do we know how he built the box? i dunno. got any cad drawings?

Nope.

How did you get 6.7? Those are external. I got 14256, then multiply by .75, then divide by 1728.

i dont think u can just multiply by .75 and expect all the volume of the mdf to be subtracted magically. Take the internal dimensions. Then subtract the volume of the port piece(s). Subtract MT volume and I think that will be more accurate.

id go way smaller, but thats just me

I cant hear your box at all from where Im standing

Thats 6.2 before any displacement. It comes out to around 4.2 after everything is done. Thats what the port is tuned for. InhumanAcura, how many cubes should I give them MT?

how many spiders...whats your res. freq?

thats what the ~ is for...

anyways, that port is going to take up AROUND X amount, and with that length its going to come out as about 37 hz, unless he puts that port outside of the box, then its going to end up being even lower

RE didnt tell me how many spiders. The res freq is around 60 I think, but will find out next week. I want to try it out at 45hz to see what its at. Should I shorten the port then to get 45hz?

yes, but thats going to raise box volume...

Ahhh
Hmmm
Ill take off an inch of port, and see how that is. Its only a temp box anyway, because I doubt it will get me my highest score.

thats the best way to look at it. Expect to build box after box to gain tenths @ a time...

MT comes standard with quad spiders...You thought about using aeroports? ALOT easier to cut a circle and swap center sections than building a slot port imo

Hmmmm
Ill try this one slotted, and then Ill do the next one with aeroports. I plan on building lots and lots of boxes. We are trying to hit close to 155, which will be no easy task. Im building this one on my own, then going to see my team at their shop next weekend to make some more.

155 on the dash? car on/off?

Its in SLAP S2, on AC 190. I didnt think it was possible, but these guys have all these insane tricks and are looking to sweep at finals.

may be retarded to ask, but if you make a removable bottom in this box, and subtracting an inch will add to box volume can't you just add in some reinforcement in a corner per say or add in equal amounts of material with say a glue block in a corner? You can then prevent having to build box after box after box just to achieve tiny incriments in your desired tuning frequency. ?
