i know people say that bass box pro is no good at
calculating rectangle vents, so i just wanted to post
this so maybe someone could check it over for me...

external dimensions:

16 x 24 x 15.5

internal dimensions:

14.5 x 22.5 x 14

.75" mdf

port

14.5 x 1.5 x 27

according to bbp6 this gives me

2.83 total volume before displacements
2.251 total volume after displacements

and a 30.05 tuning...

hows that sound?

SOUNDS nice. but i dont have the T\S or the time to play :P

Using those numbers, I came out with 1.94 cubes after all displacements tuned to just about 31Hz

2.643 - 0.328 - sub (.15?) gives me 2.165

What is T/S.

I know that sounds like a stupid question.

thiele/small parameters although I spelled that wrong. Basically the specifications of the driver.

Have to count the port wall...I get .5 cubes for the port, right about .2 cubes for the driver if I remember, so 2.463-.7 = 1.94

Tuning is a bit tricker to figure out, but it comes out to right about 31.

Try to squeeze a little more space out of that, get 'er up to 2.2.

sorry for the dely, but here are the T/S parameters
as given by BBP 6...

im probably building this thing today so any extra
help is greatly appreciated...

Driver Properties
Name: e15A.22
Type: Standard one-way driver
Company: Elemental Designs
Comment: A series
No. of Drivers = 1
Dual voice coils = parallel
Fs = 28.8 Hz
Qms = 2.74
Vas = 3.407 cu.ft
Xmax = 1.146 in
Sd = 124.9 sq.in
Qes = 0.37
Re = 1.693 ohms
Z = 1 ohm
Pe = 1000 watts

id like to keep the height down to 16" but im flexible
with other dimensions... just cannot be over 29" wide i think...

played with it a little more and got this...

16 x 25.5 x 16 2.371^3 after displacements???

14.5 x 1.5 x 25 30.31hz tuning ???

i figured that the 2.371 is actually more like
2.2 from what you guys have been saying so
far. sounds like BBP6 likes to make things seem
bigger than they are...

saywhat?

Did you do these?

Also, you should click the box in the port menu for "MINIMUM PORT AREA FOR XMAX" - it gives you a a reccomeneded area to avoid port noise. Don't skimp out on the port man, that's one of the benifits to going ported in the first place.

that minimum port area for xmax is a freaking joke...
31" height and over 100" length...

but i did work on the box a little more and got this...

16 x 25.5 x 17 2.206^3 after dis...

14.5 x 1.5 x 27 30.36 hz

i missed the one thing about the port wall being .75
good thing i asked right : )

does this one sound ok???

Looks fine.

31" height and over 100" length...

No. It's not! The port is THE most important. With your deminsions, expect port noise and it maybe won't go as low.

you need a MUCH MUCH larger port....
