what does the MX (Media eXpanded) button do..ive had people tell me never use it others say they use it all the time..i have noticed that it makes everything louder, is that all it does?

"Turn on MediaXpanderô to put the sparkle back into your music that compression or broadcasting takes out." = Supposedly improves sound quality of mp3s and the radio, probably only just increases bass/treble levels.

hmmm, ill have to try it out considering i run my music off my ipod which is mostly mp3s...ill be sure to test my gains again it prolly boast them a lil

it restores bass and treble tones that are are lost when you compress a song...it does wonders for me, i like it, have it at 3 on mine and that's what a lot of people leave it at

if you don't have a taste for it then you don't have to use it

its not the same as the "loud" setting on other decks

Well, tell those same bastards that the manual belongs to you and it is very important that you must have it back. Jeez, Alpine Decks are very complex to the first time Alpine user - trust me, I know. That deck has buttloads of features that you may use. IE. Media Expander has 3 different settings depending on how much you want the unit to expand the media that you are playin.
