And I got the first reply to a thread in this section :thumbupw:

Anyways; cheapo 10yr old RCA bookshelf system. Due time for an upgrade (if only this damned car audio hobby would quit taking all my money  )

I got an Onkyo Integre Receiver and Definitive Technology surround sound. Speakers are mounted on the walls and a 12" Sub is under one of the end tables. It pumps. There is nothing like playing PS2 or watching a movie in Surround sound.

*woot*!!!!

oh, what do I have in my dorm right now...

NAD 3020 integrated amplifier
DBX 215 15-channel EQ
JBL Studio S38 3way monitors
Adire Rava powered sub (Shiva in 1.5cF sealed, 250W plate amp)
Tivoli Audio Model 2 FM tuner

spring break project is the TC9 15" in a TQWT enclosure, that doubles as an end/coffee table :) will be powered by a pro sound QSC 19" rackmount amp.

Just some crappy Norcent DVD player/Reciever with surround sound an a little 6.5" sub. It's goin in the new bedroom when I buy my new equipment. Moving takes up some money so it might be a while.

200 bucks on Ebay.

I love it...I think it's rated for 25W per channel, but I'm sure it's a underrated - it drives the JBL's quite nicely. Apparently it has a pretty good phono stage too, but I don't have a turntable - yet.

all I have is a Sharp receiver w/ two speakers, about 125 watts, hooked up to my computer. My dorm room is weird in that the room is separated by the closets so the desk and computer is separate from the main part, no reason to have a big stereo, but next year ill upgrade to bigger and better things.

I have an Onkyo tx-sr500 receiver, Boston Acoustics 6.5" Bookshelf speakers, Denon subwoofer, and Sony DVD/CD player. I will one day get an SVS. They are truly incredible home subwoofers. They can be found internet only at svsubwoofers.com. Check these things out.

My home system and only system is= Ion Digital DJ mixer, two optimus 8s one in original box, other in custom box that I made. Not too sure how much watts the Mixer puts out but it gets a little loud, shakes the whole house. I even got my neighbor complaining that I am shaking her window pssh  . Setup is currently in the living room hooked up to the dvd player with a 20" tv screen, sounds like a real theather hehe.

O ya comes with a 5 year warranty..One tyme i had a party and it got really out of hand in a way my babys got hit and chipd the woofer totaly our fault and we sent our woofers to ascend and they sent us back brand new audax aero gel woofers for free! sry if i sound like a spokes men..I jus feel these speakers have no faults other then the bass is weak but eh thats what my sub woofer is for..

I would look into them (hell of a price for that product), but I already have the JBL's for my front stage...and those Ascend's aren't sensitive enough for my tube setup.

yesh, that would be correct... oh, and the screen diagonal is 96". lol

Yes hate me, all of you.

Future upgrades include a projector with a higher contrast ratio and a second PSW2500. I might do some bass shakers under the couches too.. those look kinda cool. I've recessed all of the gear in the wall, and the projector will soon be in a slanted enclosure up inside the ceiling. I'm getting some bad reflections off of the walls so a curtain will be going up along the back wall soon to help absorb those stray signals. All power is running through a PureAV PF31 power conditioner.

There's really nothing special about SVS subs...they happen to use souped-up TC products in really nice cabinets :)

In my opinion the SVS subs are the best deal on subwoofers in the market. They are very musical subs that hit every note perfectly. You would be hard pressed to find a better subwoofer at the price. I know audiophiles who say they don't know of any sub that can touch an SVS for their price.

Can I think of better alternatives? Possibly :) A lot like JL, in a way...
