hey i'm not sure how big the box i'm going to build for my 12 inch idMAX is gonna be. but i think its not gonna beany bigger than 3.0 cubic ft. am i right?? well anyway.. i was wondering.. if i happen to get a box that is 3.0 cubic foot how much room would that take in my trunk??? i drive a 94 acura integra. i just want an idea such as "it'll take up like half your trunnk" or something like that. what do u guys recommend for one 12 inch idMAX subwoofer??

umm..do the math...there are an infinite combination of ways to get a volume of 3cF.

Pick two dimensions and run with it.

3.0 a cube box will take up ~3.8 ft cubed i believe.

It should take up less than 1/2 unless you build it all weird.

Dude, get a tape measure and go outside and do it. Measure by inches, H x L x D = ?? Divide by 1728 to get your volume.
P.S. Don't forget to subtract for MDF, sub, and port to find your net volume!!!!!

Better guys?

i always thought that 3.0 cubed would be 3.0 cubic feet

but i may be wrong.

there are lots of things to add into the equation. like if you put something like a brick into the enclosure, or even a speaker. mabye you should put everything in a sealed box, and glue it shut so you can never get to it, then play it

it'll take up just under 4 cubes when you include the wood into the calculations.

A box with internal dimensions 12 x 12 x 36 has a volume of 3 cubes exactly. Including the wood, the box will consume a total of 3.95 cubes. There are more effiecient ways to build it, that was just a simple figure using numbers that I was able to just think of off the top of my head to give me 3 cubes.
