I have a 04 Grand Prix GT. I will be traveling to Toronto March 10th to get a nice little turbo put on. Man I can't wait. :D The company (Cartuning Performance) installed the turbo kit on a 04 GTP and hit 401hp to the wheels. :veryhapp: I expect to see no less than 375.

are you reinforcing the bottom end at all? Or can the stock internals take that?

Yes I have been to the Clubgp forums. As far as I know I will be the second 04 with this install. As far as the stock internals I was worried about it also. I have talked with the person that had it installed and they have had no issues. This kit is a direct bolt on.

Pics of the car can be seen in my sig.

which motor do you have in that grand prix? alot of people that have the 3800 series motors do supercharging with excellent results.

I have the 3800 series III. The first test vehicle was a 04 GTP. They took the supercharger out and installed the turbo kit. I talked to the guy with the install today and he is driving daily with 11psi and has had no problems.

the 3800 is a variation of the grand national motor. some of the best motors built. they will take a beating and laugh at it. my friends grand national is in the works to be running at 21 psi this spring and thats on a 125xxx mile block that is in perfect shape. when we yanked the heads to see if the motor was up to the task, there was still crosshatching on the cylinder walls! another kid has a buick regal gs running 12.40s with some mods on the supercharged motor. good luck with the project and be sure to post pics/vid when its done!

You are right, those 3800 series engines are some of the best ever built. I will definatly be taking some pics and vids. March 10th can't get here soon enough.

Here is the turbo. I will be upgraded to the larger turbo and the air/air intercooler.

you know about alcohol injection right? allows for more boost less detonation.

wow, I am sure the guys in the viper were saying "wtf" to each other. I would have loved to have seen the faces on both of them.

I have been reading about alky. Don't think I will go there though. This will be my daily driver. The other guy who has this install is running 11psi, 17 degrees timing and 0 KR. From what I understand it is a task keeping the SOB in line.

what will you be doing about the tranny? i'm sure it wont be up to that much power unless you are gentle with it. ive had some fast stuff so i know i wouldnt be gentle with it. lol

why not use a smaller pulley and add an intercooler?

sorry i forgot you had a GT, but as far as the GTP I don't see why the hell you take the SC off for a turbo when the same levels are attainable.

Turbos are more efficient then superchargers.

As for the tranny it should be ok. I won't be racing everyday and I always keep my maint. schedule. As long as I don't do 50 in reverse and slam it into drive I should be alright.

Alchohol is the best/easiest HP gain. Its 500$ and you can gain 60-100hp. Think of it this way..

Example of the awesomeness of alky:

I could only run 10-12PSI w/out KR(detonation) BEFORE alky. If you figure 8-10 HP per PSI, I was able to run over 20PSI w/ ZERO knock w/ tiny injectors(meaning bigger injectors would be even more boost) That gave me roughly 80-100hp by running that much boost.

Hands down THE best investment for my car. You can adjust when it turns on how much it sprays when it turns on, and how much at full spray.

You just need to get a kit that is made well, thats all.

Most GN's use alky over race gas. Or both at the same time.

My car in my sig will have 1 gallon of methanol in it everyday, and its my daily driver.

read this thread.

basically, everyone loves alky, and there are the few who think racegas is better, but that is concerning running it at the track on insane boost levels.26+PSI
