I am looking at the alpine 9825 and the clarion DXZ 745mp. I read good things about both of them. But, am having a tough time choosing. So, I am asking if anyone has any opinions to help me. Also, I read that the clarion uses a 24 bit D/A, does alpine also?
Thanks for all replies.

i am a fan of eclipse, but if i had to choose between the two i would choose the clarion to be honest. i like the layout of the alpine, but i hate the SQ of mine without the EQ on it.

I also would go with the clarion. A friend of mine had a 9827 that used to skip when he hit bumps in the road and also the Alpine uses a 1 bit D/A converter.

i have one alpine, the 9835 and it skips like no other with scratched cd's (my fault, not bashing the deck). all of the other eclipses that i have had (about ten or so) handle scrathed cds 10x better.

I think I will go with the clarion. I went to ebay to find one and did, but it is a factory refurb and comes with a 6 month warranty and a 90 day repair warranty. I was hoping to find a new, but none found. Has anybody ever bought something refurb, is this a good thing or skip the refurb all together. The price is in my range, but a little worry of something refurb. Any suggestions?
