A lot of people don't understand that everytime you double your speed, air resistance increases four-fold and rolling resistance increases as well because of downforce ... They also don't understand that your vehicle transmits less force in higher gears ... In order to accelerate, Force must be greater than Resistance ...

Ra = 0.5*p*Cd*Af*V^2

heres where ya lost me...

I was working on designs most of the night, started getting mentally exhausted, did this ...

How's that not busy ?

because you have time to do this, you could have just gone to sleep

When Jmac takes sh1ts, they're just little piles of statistics and formulas.

did you honestly just copy and paste this?

otherwise. how come you dont work on cars for a shop or something on the side?

you seem to know way to much **** to just sit there and do nothing.

It's just math. Everything in the world can be broken down in to a equation. With the exception of girls and hormones.

Nice job.

180 mph?!?!?! i woulda laughed at his face. even if he claimed 140 i'd laugh

lol~

I see 500BHP tiburons here time to time, using NOS or turbo for their "sprint" cars. I still don't think they can reach 180MPH.

I'm sure your friend misread KMH and MPH.

180MPH would be possible with a seriously whacked speedo.

You're assuming a production vehicle has downforce. Most actually will lift at speed, if I'm not mistaken.

Well, if your hood and windshield are slanted, then you're at least creating a bit of downforce. Might not be enough to counter whatever lift you're creating, however.

IIRC, newer cars do indeed create more upforce as they increase speed.

downforce or up, it's still resistance, isn't it?

up force will reduce rolling resistance, but not by enough to make up for the drag that it creates...

Jmac now all you have left to do is find the end of pi. :)
