I have 4 alpine speakers rated at 30 watts rms and an amp rated at 40 watts rms and was wondering if this is bad for the speakers? Or should it be fine?
Thanks

it's fine but read the gain setting tutorial. more speakers blow because of clipping then simply overpowering them

Heat is the great killer of subs and speakers. Overpowering them can create more heat, but not near as much as clipping will. For reference, a 100 watt speaker will live longer with 125 watts of clean power than 75 watts of clipped power. Seeing as Alpine is anything but overrated, I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say you won't have any trouble at all with those speakers.

i over power my component speakers by like 60watts each and have no problems...if u set ur gain right and dont clip ur speakers u wont have problems.

yeah my fronstage amp is rated 270 x2 going to a set that handles 110rms per side- carefully set your gains
