Hello Everyone,
First off I am new to car audio. I have an 04 Grand Cherokee. How does this setup sound for a beginner. MB Quart premium pce16 6.5" components for the front. JL tr 6.5 componets for the rear. A JL w3v2 sub in the way rear. All this would be powered by a Eclipse Pa5532 5 channel amp. I know the JL componets are not necessary for the rear but I already have them so I figured I would put them to use. All and all how do you think this sounds and how do you think it will sound. I am not really looking for a ton of bass, I listen to a wide variety of music, mainly Reggae. Any comments or opinions welcome.

Thanks, Gene

Sounds like a good plan. Just be sure to fade to the front some so the rears aren't too "overpowering".

Now, just remember that the install is more important than the equipment ;)

Thanks Squeak. My buddy is the car audio manager for a company called Cinema, so I am having everything professionaly installed. Do you think there are better components in the price range of the MB's, or do you think the MB's are a good choice.

All comes down to personal preference. If you are getting all this stuff from your buddy's shop, then I assume you've had a chance to demo them as well as others. If those are the ones that sounded best to your ears, go for it.

All I really got to demo at his shop was the MB's and the JL xr and vr models. I did like the MB's the best out of these three. However I know there are alot of other options out there that I am not aware of. I am mainly interested in SQ then loudness.

Well, check out Focal, OZ Audio, DLS, Rainbow, Arc Audio, Alpine and Boston Acoustics for some other great SQ components.

Do you know any good online sites to check these brands out.

www.woofersetc.com
www.thezeb.com
www.speedsound.com

Also, Tplaya07 on here is an authorized DLS and OZ Audio dealer. I'm pretty positive he'll have the best prices for those two brands.

Squeak,
I contacted Tplaya07 and have decided on the DLS UR6's. I am going to run them with a JL 300/2. Thanks for the contact.
