Ok i am looking into the DLS Iridium 6.2's (maybe 8.2's if i want to modify the doors), Rainbow Profi Vanadiums with kick bass, and the Diamond Audio s600's. I am going to demo the s600's on saturday, but their are no dealers for the other speakers near me. I listen to mainly rap but also some rock every now and then. I currently have MB Quart psd213's but the mid base is a little lacking and the tweeters are a little bit harsh. Any openions on the speakers listed above or others that you want to recommend would be greatly appreciated.

The Hexes doesn't come close to the Vanadiums or Iridiums. Judging from the current component set you have right now, I'd go with the Vanadiums. The Iridiums is a little more laid back in sound.

Yea but the Diamonds are also 150-200 cheaper and some people have told me that they are a very nice sounding speaker for the price so i decided i would throw it in with the vanadiums and iridiums.

I would go with some Dyns. Any of their two way systems would rip all of those apart.

Trust me, if I RTA'd a pair of Hexes in a car, I'll probably get a helluva peak on the upper end. Even for the silk, it's nowhere near subtle. No matter how many times I've installed them in a vehicle I can't tame the tweeters with a processor. They are not worth the investment.

If you're really trying to save, go with a pair of Type X's or CDT HD's. Alpine's line using home drivers in 2004 was a big improvement of their previous years and the HD's are awesome since now they are lower in price. Otherwise, tonality wise, Iridiums, Dyn's, Scanspeak Revs, Seas Lotus, Focal, and Vanadiums are all pretty top notch for the money.

Kickbass drivers are very efficient and have awesome midbass- Although I like some Dyn applications I've heard I strongly disagree that "Any of their two way systems would rip all of those apart." :waycrazy:

You can get great sound from any of those sets.

i've heard dyn and rainbows............ i run rainbows. i'm no expert but they are the best all around speakers i've ever heard period. To top that off not too many kids run these in their systems anyway

Diamonds shouldn't even be compared with the other two.

I run DLS UR6s which are only $340 or so, and they blow away the diamonds. If you don't want to spend that much, look at the lower end DLS and rainbow, because they are still better than the diamonds.

Since I own the DLS 6.2 Iridiums

Can't even discribe how amazing they are.. I have had Focals and Diamonds, these take the cake..
