i'd pick a different subwoofer for SPL only setups...
but for a daily loud box tune between 30 - 38 hz... with around 4 cuft + port volume

ive got 34 hz tuned... I wont be used just for SPL... but i was gonna make a box with a port plug...

I competed with my SX.. got 3rd... now that im alot louder with the same box... I wanted to go with alil more louder... to maybe grab that number one.. (btw its a local comp)
Look at the spec in my sig.... try and get a box about the same height and width... but deepth can expand another foot

no problem ;) i read the sig, AFTER i posted... lol, sorry.
but anyway, tune a box between 45 - 55 hz for competition only (you cant play music outta it).
its going to have to be tuned alot higher than a listening box ;)

Tell my why I cant play music in it? Also with it tuned to 45-55? would that hurt the sub? or anything of that sort?

No it will sound like poo splashing in to the toilet.
Ide say what 4.5 cubes with a tunning of about 45hz. That would be pretty darn loud. But I'm sure some one with a little more comp experience will chime in.
