Aight I am going to replace the door speakers in my 98 Grand Cherokee and I think ive found some speakers that would be good.
My Head Unit is an ALPINE 9807.
Either the
Infinity Kappa 62.5i
6-1/2" 2-way Speakers - on sale for 119.99
or
Infinity Reference 6002si
6-1/2" Shallow 2-way Speakers - on sale for 79.99

The only thing I am kinda confused about is the separate small crossovers that come with the kappas, where do i put it and is it hard to hook up?

What do you guys think I should do? Or do you have any other suggestions for a good set? I will definitely look into a set that a bunch of people recommend.

Well, are you planning to put an external amp on them? As for the crossovers, you basically wire from the output on your amp to the input on the crossover. Then from the crossover, one set of wires to the mid, and one set of wires to the tweeter. Do the same thing for the other side. Most people will tell you not to put your crossovers inside your door, but it can be done. You might try putting them under your front seats, or even in the trunk.

never been a fan of infinity because there highs are too bright for me. cdt has some good highs in my opinion. ever think about components? if you are gonna get and external amp and amp those speakers i would look into component. dls has some nice comps. i know where you can get a set that would fit nicely in that grand cherokee (click link in sig ;) )

well you would probably be able to get away running those coaxils off of the headunit but an external amp will make them sound better imo. also i hope you are not paying that price for those speakers.

What about something like these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32819&item=5741451846&rd=1

Or maybe some CDT? http://www.cdtaudio.com/convertible.htm
Both of those should be under 200
