Eclipse AVX2494 vs. Kenwood DDX7015

Both are 6.5", Double-Din screens that do it all.

I particulary like the Eclipse b/c of the 20gig harddrive to save music too, and I was told that the Eclipse is more user friendly.

The Kenwood is my alternative due to pricing. A buddy gets that direct, so the unit and the DSP would be about $650.

I havn't been able to play with either of them so I'm lookin for any opinions about brands, user friendly-ness, sound quality, reliability, and just about everything else. I'm tryin not to skimp on anything, so which would be better? Any and all suggestions are appreciated, Thanks.

I dont have any personal experience with either, but for $650 i think the Kenwood would be pretty hard to beat.

thats what i though, but when i asked a local car audio guru, he said the DSP built into the Eclipse is unmatched by the Kenwood. I'd rather spend the money and get the eclipse in that case, but is the difference b/w the two that noticable? Can an Eclipse DSP be that much better than the Kenwoods?

I have to send out Kenwoods for repair 20 to 1 compared to Eclipse. Eclipse also offers 3yrs of warranty (if dealer installed) compared to Kenwoods 1yr, as well as a yr of theft replacement.

IMHO go with the Eclipse, future posts here will most likely agree, as my normal customers do.

Kenwood is out of Eclipses' league IMO :)

i've owned both and i must say, Eclipse made my $hit sound like a whole brand new system.
