Was about to purchase a 9831 when the price changed on me so i decided to go with the ECLIPSE 3434..

i must say, i am happy with this HU.

I'm just so paranoid that it will get stolen cuz its undetachable :(

and i live in a bad neighborhood :/

well if they do steal it then it will not be any use to them. I also think esclipse has this deal going that if it get's stolen in the first year they will repalce it for free. But u have to buy it from an authorized dealer.

I have that HU. You program the ESN with any cd you choose. Read the manual.

After you activate the ESN and the power is cut. The security protection engages and the theives will never be able to use it - thus becoming useless and you'll get a new HU if you you got it from an authorized dealer.
