SQ is opinionated, i personally think my RE SE sounded better ported than sealed a while back.

so in a sealed enclosure u get clear crisp bass...how would that go with ported? just loud?
some subs perform better in a ported application, some work better in a sealed application.

wat u think about my alpine type-r's
I've heard them in both setups...
liked them in a low tuned ported enclosure best (30Hz and under).

i have tried seal a few times, and always found that i like a low tuned ported better, SQ is great

I have a 32hz tuned ported box with L7s (known as the shittiest SQ), however compared to Brahmas and XXXs that I've heard it sounds pretty **** good.
So... that's my input...

Ha u ran into that problem too huh.
Well for the sealed or ported, u shouldnt lose that much sq with the proper enclosure and tuning. The lower the tuning the better the sq. lower cubes also an up in sq, more cubes = louder and a little loss in sq.

SQ varies....i personally think the ideal enclosure is a low tuned, midsized ported box. Now, i have sealed in my truck, but if i had the space, you would see a box tuned to 30 or so.
