WEll i fainnaly got it all "installed" for right now, after months of planning and waiting, it is operational!!!! I think i may have gone to far... i have never had a system like this!!! the gains are still at 1/3, and my HU sub output is at 0, and it is listenable, i turn the gains up, and max the HU and it is out of control!!! It sounds awsome on rock, which is what i was hoping for, and has good SQ. But my problem now is rattles, and maiking it all look nice. The rattles are out of hand, my hole trunk is one big rattle.

it hurts..its fun

the rear deck isnt bad at all actually, its the trunk lid, and the back of the trunk that is the worst. the electrical isnt doing too bad, but tha amp is only@ 1/3 too.

i worked hard for that shine,, and its only on two sides, the ones you cant see are just sprayed with a couple coats.. the shiny ones have 7-8 and some sanding..its still lumpy, but i tried

question.. this all wheighs a lot. and it has lowered my rear end a bit.. is there a way i can adjust my rear suspension?

supa_c
12-21-2004, 09:56 PM
what kind of suspension in the rear ?
There are these "airbags" that fit inside your spring, you fill them with air and they help reduce saggage.
There red, i cant remember who makes them though

I guess just either live with it or beef up your rear suspension. Weigh down your front is an option too but I have no idea how. lol

does having the subs fire up and the port facing the trunk affect the sound for you?

where are the other 2 subs at, and how did you paint your box, i know there was a thread about it but i cant find it

all 4 on top, doesnt affect the sound from what i can hear, although i havent heard them any other way... i painted it with spray paint.. bondoed the cracks and holes, primerd, sanded then painted... like 7-8 coats

so u just bondoed your whole box and primered, sanded, and painted? I thought you fiberglassed it

brandontw
12-22-2004, 01:50 AM
didnt even bondo the whole thing, just the cracks, and the screw holes, then sanded it flat and painted

Very good, brandon, it looks nice! Dig the paint job, too. Bet that ***** was a monster to get in the trunk :)

Honestly, I wouldn't even screw with raising the back-end of that Taurus.

Stiffer springs are one thing, airbags are something different. Not a good choice.

Decent coilovers won't set you back too bad; But you'll have to have them installed professionally. (Unless you want to purchase a spring compressor and possibly some kevlar for your cranium)

Check dragracing.com for coilovers that will fit your car.

Be advised your ride will change a lot.

it already has stock stiff suspension, so i think it wil be ok, im not sure how much it lowered it but it wasnt much, i was thinkin that a pile of peopl and **** in my car would be alot more than the 200 pounds that box adds, and i can livce with thatm so ill deal

Looks good

Question- Why would you turn up the gains and turn up the volume? Aren't you supposed to match the gain on the amp to the pre-out voltage from your HU?

hey i was thinking about getting one of those for my girlfriends beetle, do you think it provide somewhat good bass in that little car.?

well for a real quick fix to your suspension problem take about $30 go down to kraigens or another auto parts store and they have these things you stick in between the springs and will raise it up to 2 inches or they can evn be placed on the outer part of the srping to lower the car. not sure what they are called for leaf springs there called shankles(something like that) but youd need them for a coil spring they should know what your talking about. then just jack up the car take off the tire insert and adjust on both sides and your good to go. make sure to check em every so ofter. it will **** if one side falls off and youll be driving with the mean gangsta lean
